Location: Jetwing Yala
If there is one man that can talk to the animals and talk about them with passion and detail it is Chamara whose love for nature made him pursue his higher studies in Wild Life Conservation & Management at the Peradeniya University. He is considered a young adventurer, with innovative ideas and was key in introducing the role of the Youth Exploration Society of Sri Lanka in protecting and preserving natural habitats and species everywhere on the planet to youth in other countries. This led to the development of a well organized multimedia database and as a result received a PEM Internship Award 2010.
Chamara’s other passion is photography, a hobby he excels at and one that he shares with all the Jetwing guests, in particular his impressive picture collection of snakes. For guests who love wildlife safaris he is excellent at spotting even the smallest insect and finding picture postcard spots to capture that holiday snapshot of a lifetime.
Chamara says “I like guests to explore the seashore beyond sun bathing where they will discover the superhighway of animal life that exists if you crouch down on your knees and watch how busy the beach is with little creatures that at a distance vanish into the miles upon miles of golden sand.”
